MY APPROACH
I build two kinds of relationships
THE FIRST ONE IS WITH YOU
Before I look at a single system, I want to know what made you start this, and which parts of the work you'd never want to give up.That's not a warm-up. If I don't know what lights you up, I'll optimise the wrong things. I'll automate the one part of your process that's slow on purpose, because it's where you do your best thinking, or because it's the reason someone chose you over the practice down the road. Not everything manual is broken. Some of it is where your heart is, and my goal is to know the difference before I touch anything.
THE SECOND IS BETWEEN THE MOVING PARTS
Your form should talk to your database. An inquiry should land on your calendar. An invoice should end up somewhere your accountant can find it. Most businesses have every one of the right pieces and nothing joining them up, so you become the connection. You're holding it all in your head and you can't see where it could be better.
